Oscar Sparks grew up on North Farm, where he worked in the fields as a boy. When he became an adult he married Cora Sparks, a former maid, and moved in to one of the small cottages by the south bridge in the village.  They already had six kids. The marriage hasn't been very good lately, both spouses have had affairs..

Oscar also has two children, Almond och Hazel, whom were born out of wedlock when Oscar was very young. The mother is Honey Sudder of Sudder Farm, who later was married Baker. The fatherhood of Almond and Hazel is a secret.
