| Second Winter | | Sheldon at the Laughing Cow | | 1/9/2008 9:51 PM |
Albert Sheldon is the popular inn-keeper in Windlebridge. His place, The Laughing Cow is the place to meet other villagers, have a drink and food, play some cards or other games.
The Laughing Cow serves simple local dishes, like soups, dumplings, and cake. Nothing fancy - following the local tradition. |

Old Albert is getting older, and everyone is wondering who will take over The Laughing Cow when he is gone - which one of the four sons, including the youngest, Matthew, who doesn't look a bit as his father Albert..

The Laughing Cow is located on the corner of North and East roads by the Village Square, near the Paynter House. Its actually two smaller houses from start, an old stonehouse and a wooden house, which merged to one. Family quarters are in the older part, the Inn in the newer.

The Laughing Cow at night - the place is open until 2 AM. |
The Laughing Cow is the Inn in the village, with good simple food, bar, a card game table and other games. There are also some rooms for night guests, when there are such - does not happen a lot.. (If only the hotel stuff worked on residential lots.. the restaurant items work well. This restaurant that caters for the local people of Windlebridge is doing very well, it is a level 9 business at the moment.) |
| | Third Fall | | Glimpses From Village Life | | 10/5/2008 11:51 AM |
Life around the Village Square is tranquil and predictable - people come and go, children grow up, marry, have children, get older.. This fall the four brothers Sheldon of the village inn, The Laughing Cow, split their heritage. Oldest brother George inherited the inn and continued the business with his young wife Nettie (illegitime daughter of Jack Paynter). His brothers moved away from Windlebridge, to seek an outcome elsewhere. George an Nettie renovated the Inn, and it continued to be the popular spot to meet for the villagers and farmers of Windlebridge.

On warm nights, people are sitting on the benches around the square, just talking. Dreaming of travellling to far countries, maybe? |

| | Third Spring | | North Street | | 3/30/2008 11:52 AM |
North Street - from right to left: The Pottery, Reese Grocery & Vegetables, Scott Cottage, Rose Cottage and on the corner to East Street: The Laughing Cow.
This spring on North Street, old inn keeper Albert Sheldon passed away, leaving the business to his wife Violet. His four sons are all still living at the inn, it will be interesting to see which one who will inherit the inn the day when Violet also dies.. One of the sons, Howard, got married to Rachel Rowan, a servant girl with a great interest in cooking, which will be good for the visitors of the inn, as she now took over the chef position at the inn.
Tragedy hit Scott Cottage, when the young wife Hanna Scott, born Westby, died so early during a pregnancy, leaving her husband Shawn a widower with three young toddler children.. who will comfort Shawn?
