Herbert and Faith Goodman live in an apartment on Theatre Street, with a view over the city and the harbor. They also are owners of a Barber Shop on Shoemaker Street, not far away from their house.

They are already an old couple, and until recently had no children. They decided to adopt a girl from the orphanage, and so Maxine came to their home, and is now the heir and future for their little business.
