Everone knows that old Liliana Fay has powers that can help - or hurt. She is both loved and feared in the Village, where she lives in a small cottage just by the Northern bridge.
She was never married, but nevertheless had two sons. Her powers, however, are only inherited by females.
She never told anyone of the fathers of her sons, but there were some whispering of the gypsy, old Paul Zimarro, being father of her second son, Morgan. She never commented on that, and never revealed the father of her first son Merlin either. As a teenager Merlin had a secret love affair with Violet Sheldon, wife of the Inn Keeper Albert Sheldon, an affair which resulted in a son, Matthew, but this is also a fact that everyone involved kept as a deep secret, and not even Matthew knows about this.
Merlin later married Ronda Fay and moved to Windleport where he opened an apothekary. They have two small children, a son and a daughter, Camlin and Cordelia.
Lilianas younger son, Morgan, fell in love with May Westby, one of the wagoner Peter Westby's daughters, and made her move to the Fay Cottage. This resulted in a big scandal in the village, and the Westby never accepted the relationship. They had two daughters, Viviana and Mariana, but May sadly enough died during the birth of Mariana. Morgan, out of his mind because of the loss, left his daughters with his mother and moved to his brother in Windleport. He blamed the Westby family and the other villagers for Mays death, and has stated that he will never return.
Liliana took good care of her granddaughters, who both are now teenagers. Liliana is a white witch, but Viviana choosed the path of the black witches. Mariana just recently turned teenager and has not yet choosed her path.

The witch blood is carried on by both sexes, but only females can become witches. Thus, Cordelia will become one when she is a teenager, as well as future children of Matthew Sheldon, if they are girls..
